Hi, I’m Dayna, the maker behind The Pines Cozy Critters. Before beginning this creative journey, I worked as a pediatric ICU nurse, caring for children and their families during some of their most difficult moments. That experience has stayed close to my heart and continues to shape the care I put into everything I make

I’ve always loved creating, but I found something especially meaningful in crocheting animals and bringing each little personality to life. I make everything from cows and deer to ducks, octopi, and even the occasional giant kangaroo. Each critter takes hours to create and often involves plenty of trial and error along the way.

Because I know how loved children’s toys can become, I choose washable yarns without harsh dyes and carefully make each piece with little hands—and the occasional trip into little mouths—in mind. I also love being able to recreate a lost favorite and give a child their special companion back.

What began as a creative outlet has grown into more than I ever expected. Every Cozy Critter is made slowly, thoughtfully, and with the hope that it becomes a treasured friend.
