Hi, I’m Melody—founder of Rustic Pine Candle Company and Old North State & Co.

I’m an armed forces veteran, military wife, and mother of two, with a background and deep passion for the criminal justice system. I founded Rustic Pine Candle Co. after completing my service in the military, never imagining that a simple hobby would one day grow into something so meaningful.

Candle making began as a creative outlet—something I did just for fun, gifting candles to loved ones for every occasion. What started as a hobby slowly turned into a passion, and that passion grew into a desire to share these thoughtfully crafted creations with others.

The inspiration behind our name, collections, and themes is rooted in home, family, and our beautiful Old North State. Rustic Pine Candle Company is located near Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in an area known as the “Land of the Pines”—hence the name. We’re also inspired by the warmth and coziness of rustic home décor and strive to bring that same inviting, comfortable, and nostalgic feeling into your home through each candle we create.
